LONDON — Queen Elizabeth II marked her Diamond Jubilee on Monday with a message thanking all those who had supported her over her 60-year reign and reaffirming her dedication to serving the British people.

One of the most iconic wedding dresses of a generation is in the Twin Cities right now. Princess Diana’s 1981 royal wedding gown has arrived in advance of an exhibit celebrating her life at the Mall of America.
The wedding dress was uncrated on Wednesday. The multi-layered gown features more than 10,000 tiny mother-of-pearl sequins and pearls.

Cheap chic fashionistas yearned for years for H&M to open a store in the Tampa Bay area. By year’s end, there will be three.
The trendy Swedish apparel retailer plans to open new sprawling stores by late fall at Tyrone Square Mall in St. Petersburg and WestShore Plaza in Tampa. Meanwhile, in response to the first H&M that opened in November in International Plaza, rival Forever 21 Inc. plans to expand its flagship Forever XXI store located across the hall.

California state Sen. Alex Padilla (D-Pacoima) has volunteered for years as one of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure "Pink Tie Guys," who wear the ties at public events to raise awareness about breast cancer.
On Wednesday, after learning that the foundation would stop funding Planned Parenthood for breast health services, Padilla announced that his pink tie days were done.

AFTRA’s national board approved a merger proposal with the Screen Actors Guild on Saturday.
The proposal passed with 94% of the panel voting for approval, which followed approval by SAG’s national board on Friday night.
The approval by both national boards will be followed by a referendum on the merger measure to be approved by the full membership of each guild.
